Mallorca

1390 West 9th Street
Cleveland, Ohio
Signature Dish:  Sea Bass

Located in Cleveland's warehouse district, this fine dining establishment may be a little too exquisite for the jean-wearin' clientele.  Business casual, however, was perfectly acceptable for the white tablecloth and waiter-in-tuxedo atmosphere.  The appearance was indeed backed by very helpful and courteous staff members.  In fact, the restaurant was voted the best service in Cleveland by Northern Ohio Live Magazine.

There was a nice selection of wines and beers was available.  The menu favored food choices popular in Spain with a strong edge toward seafood.  The shrimp with garlic sauce was an excellent starter.  Entree options include octopus, mahi mahi, lobster, and crab.  But the boastful meal choice was provided by the sea bass.  This tasty fish was supported by Spanish potatoes, rice, and asparagus. The portions were by no means skimpy.  As a result, I was unable to test the dessert items - a rarity for me - and a testament to the portions served.  At the end of the meal a complimentary round of housemade sangria was served.  As one of the finer dining establishments in the city, this place offers much more than your typical casual dining experience.  When in Cleveland with your guests-to-impress or sweetheart-to-woo, be sure to visit Mallorca for that pampered dining experience that can have that extra romantic flare.
