Winking Lizard Tavern

14018 Detroit Avenue
Cleveland, OH
Signature Dish: Ribs with their own BBQ Sauce
Menu Link:  Winking Lizard Menu

This chain of Cleveland-area pubs has good pub food, but don't expect a whole lot more from the cuisine that is meant to be significantly partnered with barley and hop drinks.  The sandwiches are good, however, and the wings are tasty with a variety of heats.  The "magma" wing flavor, advertised as twice the "911", is tops in spice temperature - and is indeed brow-sweat worthy.  Although salads are on the menu, I'd only order if your diet severely dicatates such a choice.

Winking Lizard Tavern in Lakewood
The real reason for going to the Winking Lizard is for the pub atmophere.  Although I have no major complaints about any of the locations I visited, I prefer the Lakewood spot because of the large number of televisions and the availability of pool tables, dart boards, cornhole equipment, and adult skeeball games.  I understand that the Rockside Road location is good as well.  And, of course, there is the beer.  Oh, the beer.  They have a selection that rivals anywhere in the area.  And for locals to get maximum exposure, they have the World Tour of Beers of which you can take part.  Beer connesiours delight!

There are always lots of specials for beer and food, including a "keep the glass" beer option each month.  When in Cleveland, be sure to visit a Winking Lizard, thrown down a few, and enjoy the atmosphere and entertainment this pub has to offer.
